Hourly consulting
Some work does not fit neatly into a fixed-fee project. If you need ad-hoc help, such as reviewing a model another vendor built, pair-programming with your team, or advising on data architecture, we charge £175 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Time is billed in 15-minute increments and invoiced fortnightly.
Frequently asked questions
What if my project is smaller than the Build and deploy minimum?
We sometimes take on smaller proof-of-concept builds for £5,000 to £8,000. These are scoped tightly: one model, one data source, one output format. If the proof of concept works, we roll the cost into a full Build and deploy engagement.
Do you charge for the initial scoping call?
No. The first call is free and usually lasts 30 to 45 minutes. We use it to understand your data situation, define the problem and give you a rough cost estimate. If we think AI is the wrong tool for your problem, we will say so.
Can I switch from Ongoing support to hourly consulting?
Yes. Give us 30 days written notice and we will transition you to hourly billing from the next calendar month. We keep your models running during the transition.
Are there any hidden costs?
Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure) is billed at cost with no markup. We estimate these costs during scoping, and for most projects they run between £50 and £300 per month. If your data requires special licensing or third-party APIs, we flag that upfront.
What payment terms do you offer?
Fixed-fee projects are split 40% upfront, 30% at midpoint, 30% on delivery. Monthly plans are invoiced on the first of each month with 14-day payment terms. We accept bank transfer and major credit cards.
